Kindergarten

OUR CURRICULUMN

Our curriculum is designed into age appropriate themes, keeping in mind that each child learns in a different way and to involve as many of the child’s senses in learning activity as is possible. This maximises the learning experience and the learning outcomes. The integrated and interdisciplinary learning system, along with engaging and hands-on activities, ensures that all our children are successful learners. We integrate abilities like reading, math, music and movement and interpersonal relation into our theme based curriculum. The methodology ensures that learning is thought provoking and empowering since it is based on the latest theories and best practices in education.

DIFFERENCE

Parents who are keen on enrolling their children to our schools often wonder and ask how our kindergarten is different from others We are always happy to answer that our school is based on the philosophy that children learn best when they are supported in their own unique learning styles, given a safe and a happy environment. They blossom when they are nurtured by those who have their best interests at heart and using the most up-to-date methods.

SAFE AND LEARNER FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT

Safety is our prime consideration while we plan any activity and all our teachers are trained to do the same when they implement our programmes. The school and classrooms, the equipment and materials used for all our programmes are safe. They are also learner friendly which means they do no lead to over stimulation and distraction for the child.

METHODOLOGY

There has been a paradigm change in the educational approach of the school to equip our students with all the 21st century skills so as to prepare them for the challenges ahead and for life.Whole Group Instructional method is used when students learn new concepts-be it a letter sound, a new math concept or a science experiment.Class discussions, student led demonstaration such as show and tell or sharing of an individual project form a major part of this learning.A more in-depth activity is carried out with small groups of children.One-on one instructions occur in in the classes depending on the academic ability of the child. This focussed attention given to the struggling students help them cope withtheir peers. caters to the different types of learners in the classroomwith using different teaching tools.

EXPERENTIAL RATHER THAN ROTE LEARNING

Children are explorers and need to use their five senses to process information and learn about the world. At CCIS the curriculum provides opportunities to experience concepts to learn and develop. Our facilitators only create an environment conducive for learning rather than focusing on memorising facts

EXTENDING LEARNING BEYOND CLASSROOM

The learning approach in CCIS has evolved from the conventional text book learning to a more blended learning approach with a judicious mix of hands on exploration and interactive learning through resources.Interactive learning platforms have been implemented as a means of extending learning beyond the physical boundaries of the text book and the classroom.
