Rita Khanna
Early Childhood Education Lead“I didn’t choose education; education chose me. And I am so grateful it did.”
40 years. That is how long Ms. Rita Khanna has been showing up every morning for the smallest, most curious, most wonder-filled learners in the room and finding, each time, that it never gets old.
With four decades of experience in early childhood education, Ms. Khanna is one of the rarest things in any school: an educator whose passion has not dimmed with time, but deepened. Her entire career has been devoted to the preschool years, that extraordinary window when a child first makes sense of the world, and she approaches every day with the same conviction. These early years are not preparation for real learning. They are the most real learning there is.
Her philosophy is rooted in the whole child. She believes that a child’s first need in any classroom is safety and belonging, and that once those are secured, curiosity follows naturally. Creativity is her methodology of choice, not as a craft activity, but as a fundamental bridge between a child’s curiosity and their understanding of the world. She has watched dozens of her preschoolers grow into confident, thoughtful young adults and considers that the truest measure of her life’s work.
